As one of the most promising prospects in the league right now, Grimes represents a new wave of bodybuilders on the rise. While an aura of hype has surrounded him since entering the sport, Grimes understands that he will need to shore up a few areas of concern if he is to compete with the best at the 2022 Olympia in Las Vegas, NV.

About Regan Grimes

Grimes exploded in popularity following a successful 2019 season in the sport. Competing at two IFBB Pro League shows, he first earned bronze at the 2019 Romania Muscle Fest Pro. After reaching the podium, he rode that success into the Japan Pro the same year, placing third in back-to-back events.

Grimes’ next year was met with more resistance but started off strong. He picked up an impressive victory at the 2020 Romania Muscle Fest Pro, proving that he was capable of making improvements season after season. When the Men’s Open bodybuilder made his way to 2020 Mr. Olympia. Grimes placed 15th, struggling to match the sheer size and conditioning of other top competitors like seven-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath, Hadi Choopan, and former Arnold Classic champion William Bonac

Despite the bumpy 2020 season, Grimes continued pushing himself on stage against some of the world’s best. 2021 saw Grimes’ attempt at 2021 Mr. Olympia, though he ranked 15th place again. Nevertheless, he’s already punched his ticket to compete at the 2022 Mr. Olympia contest after winning the 2021 KO Pro last Halloween.

As it stands, the 28-year-old Grimes attempted two shows thus far in 2022. In preparation for the 2022 Arnold Classic, Grimes left no stone unturned, training legs early in the season. Despite the effort bringing up his physique, it wasn’t enough to reach the podium, as he earned seventh place at the Arnold. Looking to expel the sour taste of defeat, Grimes entered the 2022 Boston Pro, but once again, found himself outside of the top five in seventh place.

Instead of attempting more pro shows, Grimes took the hint from the judges and began adding mass and conditioning to his aesthetic build. Coached by Milos "The Mind" Sarcev, the plan for 2022 is simple: add muscle mass and improve conditioning.
