According to Hollingshead, his diet is on par with his ambitious plans for the upcoming season.

630 grams NET carbs (training days-520g NET carbs rest days). 320 grams NET protein 70 grams NET fat (from salmon and olive oil).

As far as weight is concerned, Hollingshead believes problems only arise when he’s pushing beyond 300-pounds. He recently shared how his preparations have been going with retired IFBB Pro Dennis James on The Menace Podcast.

Hollingshead gained widespread notoriety as a Men’s Open bodybuilder during his 2020 season in the sport. He took his massive build to the Europa Pro Championships, which he won. The elite-level bodybuilder didn’t lay off the gas after his first victory of the season, though. He built off that success, taking his physique to the 2020 British Grand Prix, earning gold en route to defeating popular Canadian standout Regan Grimes. This victory earned Hollingshead an invitation to compete at the 2021 Mr. Olympia

On the 2021 Olympia stage, Hollingshead fell short, placing 12th. Despite the unfavorable outcome, he’s eager to show the judges what kind of improvements he’s made during his off-season

James Hollingshead Olympia Qualification Status

At the time of this article’s publication, Hollingshead is not qualified to compete at the upcoming 2022 Mr. Olympia contest, scheduled to take place in Las Vegas from Dec. 16 – 18.

There are a number of methods to qualify for Olympia. Former Olympia champions have a lifetime invitation. The top five athletes from the previous year’s Olympia contest in the Men’s Open division also have their invitations.

Bodybuilders can qualify for the Olympia via a pro show win during the current season, spanning September 13, 2022, to November 20, 2022. Athletes can also qualify via pro points earned throughout the season with the help of the Olympia Qualification System. Lastly, before the event kicks off, special invitations are given out at the Olympia’s discretion.

While he has yet to earn his qualification for 2022 Mr. Olympia, Hollingshead says he’s confident in regards to what lies ahead. While Hollingshead hasn’t punched his ticket for what would be his second Olympia appearance, the UK-based bodybuilder is keen on rectifying that issue in the coming months.
